  Stayed there over May bank holiday visiting friends. Rooms were nice and clean comfortable beds had a good sleep however the cleaning staff are noisy in the mornings. Checkin/ reception is at the bar. Thankfully No noise from the bar at all or the road outside. There is ample Parking Breakfast was standard and more than sufficient for a long outdoors day. I enjoyed the brekkie pretty stuffed each morning we left I would stay there again and have recommended to friends.

  We have moved to Lydney and have driven past this pub a few times whilst searching for houses and it's made a good impression from the outside. We have never been to this chain but the first impression was superb. The pub has a fantastic appearance from the outside, looks clean, tidy and above all else welcoming. There was easy parking when we pulled up and the good impressions continued as we walked inside. The inside was warm, welcoming and very tastefully designed. There is a kids area as well, which for us was great and a real pleasing site.
  
  There were a lot of places to sit and we picked a nice spot from which we had a good view of the children's area. This pub offers a waiter service, which makes a change from other pubs. The waitress herself was very friendly and helpful but the staff serving the food were curt and not that friendly. The food did make up for it though as it was nicely presented, hot, tasted fresh and all the meals were good.
  
  For us we hope we have now found our regular pub where we can go with the kids, enjoy a nice and decent meal. Hopefully the rest of the staff will learn the value of a smile and a friendly word.

  Although the bar and food was good the rooms were poor. I had to go out at 6am to buy sugar from the garage. Towels were not replaced daily so was showering and having damp towels. Nothing close to two rivers so was either long walk in to town uphill on the way back or you was stuck in the bar.....very boring place to stay
